Welcome to the new world of Electronic Check Conversion!
This page contains helpful information, links, and answers to frequently asked questions regarding Electronic Check Conversion (ECC).
For consumers, ECC provides all the benefits of paper checks combined with the added security of the electronic payment system. This is the same system used by banks for more than 25 years to process transactions such as the Direct Deposit of your paycheck.
Some of the most notable benefits include:
|
* Safety & Confidentiality |
About 10 million Americans have their identity stolen every year. The process of clearing paper checks exposes your personal and financial, information to as many as twelve people. Do you know these people? With Electronic Check Conversion (ECC), only you and the cashier see YOUR personal information printed on your check... eliminating eleven opportunities for fraud. The safest place for your check is with you, and when your check is electronically processed, this is where your personal information stays. |
|
* Choice |
Electronic Check Conversion (ECC) helps merchants reduce check writing fraud. This means they are now more eager to accept your check. This allows you to pay the way YOU want and continue to enjoy the benefits of writing checks. |
|
* Convenience |
With Electronic Check Conversion (ECC), there is no more waiting for banks to return your cancelled checks. You have the check immediately back in your possession - again, The safest place for your check! |
